Anyone want to create an East Asian descent and a South Asian (Indian or Filipino) descent family with me? Cat and I have several little girls adopted from India, and Jo and I have a girl and a boy adopted from Japan. (Though Adam's cousins, Karoline and Gunther, have a Korean mother. Their parents live in Neighboring City as part of a company branch project, which is why they are staying so long)

OK! The South Asian family might also take a third person depending on how big we make them. India is a very...populous country, not to mention the area some people call Indochina which is in the middle of both China and India and has influences from both cultures.

Looks like India is predominantly Hindu and the Philippines are predominantly Catholic, if we want to use a religion as a base for the South Asian family. (Could also be interesting to do a Muslim family.) As for Japan, more than half the population has no religion (about 62%!). My roommate and I have also been watching a lot of Korean shows on Netflix, so I wouldn't mind considering a Korean family instead.

I don't think we've done a Hindu family yet. That could be interesting. A Korean Buddhist family could be interesting, too.

I agree both would be interesting.

Okay. How big were you thinking each of the two families would be?

The Korean family probably 3-5 kids. The Indian family... a lot more. I'm guessing the parents had an arranged marriage and got married in their early 20's, so maybe they're around 63 and have a few kids in their 40's and a few surprise babies since the average age of menopause is around 53-54.

So maybe with the Korean family, we can split them evenly with you, me, and Jo each taking two people. Which means one of us would have two kids, while the other two have a parent and a kid each.
As for the Indian family, we can pick a larger number (X) that's divisible by three (and include the parents in that total number, so the actual number of kids would be X-2 lol).

Okay so we've got:
Korean family with 2 parents, 4 kids
Indian family with 2 parents, 16 kids
Who wants to take the parents in each family?

I'll take the dad in the Korean family and the mom in the Indian one.

Okay. I'll take the mom in the Korean family and then Jo can take the dad in the Indian one. What age ranges should the kids in each family be?

I would guess the Indian one would have kids in their early 40s to around 13.

So maybe something as follows:
DC1 43 DC2 40 DC3 39 DC4 37 DC5 34 DC6 30 DC7 28 DC8 26 DC9 24 DC10 23 DC11 21 DC12 19 DC13 17 DC14 16 DC15 14 DC16 12
And maybe the Korean family could be
DC1 29 DC2 26 DC3 24 DC4 20

So I'll probably wind up playing Indian Child 12 (19ish) so that I can use her for a (couple) storyline(s) with Joelle: one being a drag king, one being the love triangle with Eliot McCloud. She's already been established as a plus size person and I found a couple picture ideas for her that I found on Instagram via Google search, because I knew it would be had to find exactly what I'm needing on a stock photo site.

I use pinterest for some of mine and have made a couple specific boards for RPing. That's where I got Gunther and Karoline's pictures.

Just a note on the Indian family, tradition is that guys stay in the home and bring their spouses in. Girls move out to be with theirs.

That familial tradition should be easy enough to work with! Especially with how big some of the houses here are. So far we've got this for our set up: DH [Jo] DW [Joelle] DC1 43 DC2 40 DC3 39 DC4 37 DC5 34 DC6 30 DC7 28 DC8 26 DC9 24 DC10 23 DC11 21 DC12 19 [daughter; Annie] DC13 17 DC14 16 DC15 14 DC16 12 DH [Joelle] DW [Annie] DC1 29 DC2 26 DC3 24 DC4 20

I might take DC10 or 11 too. Joelle and I have a storyline going with Earnest Escamilla and I'm not sure I'm gonna be able to tear him away to pair him with Penny lol

That is fine if Earnest can't be paired with Penny.
Maybe Acharya for the Indian sure name?

I'm also tempted to make Korean DC2 a daughter and base her off the show Extraordinary Attorney Woo that my roommate and I have been obsessed with 🤣

Oops what's wrong with my computer? The picture went on the wrong post. The 26 year old is engaged (to Brisa Velasquez's ex) with a daughter already. I think the oldest 3 or 4 or 5 should be married.
Also maybe a well-meaning but annoying widowed aunt moves in with them, thinking she can give the ones not married advice on choosing a mate. (I will play her)

Also annoying widowed aunt part.. I think she should hate the whole situation with 26 year old daughter
